The Effects of Period Poverty

Nearly 1 in 4 U.S. Teens Have Missed School Due to Lack of Period Products

(Source: Thinx & PERIOD., 2021)

  • 23% of teens have missed class because they lacked access to period products.

  • 61% said they have worn a tampon or pad for longer than recommended because they didn’t have a replacement.

Our Mission

Project Moon Cycle is a charity project aimed at raising awareness about period poverty and accepting donations to support girls and teens who may not have access to period products. Our holistic approach offers both immediate relief and long-term empowerment, guided by the mission to bring hope and dignity to those in need. Join us in our mission to make a difference and support menstrual health.

What We Do

Project Moon Cycle provides monthly menstrual care kits — called M.C. Kits — to girls and young menstruators in need. These aren’t just for a first period — they’re for every cycle, every month, for as long as support is needed and donations allow.

We believe every girl deserves access to safe, toxin-free period products, body-positive education, and a community that empowers her to feel proud, not ashamed.

Hands Holding Hearts

Care

We distribute thoughtfully curated MoonCycle Kits filled with pads, liners, gentle self-care items, uplifting affirmations, and menstrual education. Kits are provided monthly based on need and donation capacity.

Education

Education isn’t about “the talk” — it’s about teaching girls how to understand and support their bodies through every phase of their menstrual cycle.

We offer age-appropriate, body-positive materials that explain how the menstrual cycle works beyond just the period. We explore each stage — from menstruation to ovulation — and help girls tune into how these shifts may affect their energy, emotions, and needs.

Blooming Women

Community

We foster safe, shame-free spaces for conversation, support, and shared experiences. Through workshops, meet-ups, and mutual care, we build sisterhood around a natural part of life.
